Eli Rolfes is a doctoral student in the Community Research and Action Program at Vanderbilt University. His research examines the relationship between schools, neighborhoods, and their communities through a variety of analytic tools, including geographic information systems and multilevel modeling. His recent work focuses on how the rise of school choice programs shapes neighborhood dynamics in urban districts.
Eli began his education career teaching secondary math in Northern Kentucky. After leaving the classroom, he worked in policy advocacy, provided data analysis and performance management for school district turnaround efforts in Providence, and as a program analyst for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education in DC.
He holds a MS in Educational Studies from Johns Hopkins University and a BS in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, where he minored in statistics and data sciences.
